Pulse EDM
Electronic medical records with a PACS archive: from the patient record to public health fund billing.
Our product
A medical facility often juggles separate systems for records, the imaging archive and billing. We are building Pulse EDM, a system that brings them together around the patient. Data security is designed in from the foundations, not bolted on at the end.
// What we delivered
- →A patient record with a timeline of the entire course of care
- →Visits that move through clearly defined states, with documentation added entry by entry
- →A PACS archive, a DICOM viewer and 3D scan (STL) previews in the patient record
- →A grouper for JGP, Poland's DRG system, with versioned rules and quality gates on import
- →PESEL encryption, a GDPR audit log and a separate instance for every client
- →P1 integrations: e-prescriptions, e-referrals and e-sick notes (being rolled out)
// how it works
01 / 05 · Patient at the centre
The patient at the centre
The patient record gathers the whole course of care on a single timeline: registration, visits, imaging and e-documents. The doctor sees the history in context before opening the next visit. Integrations with P1, the national e-health platform (e-prescriptions, e-referrals, e-sick notes), are being rolled out.
02 / 05 · Visit
A visit from booking to documentation
A visit moves through clearly defined states: scheduled, in progress, completed. Documentation grows as a series of entries, each with an author and a time. Once the visit ends, the entries are frozen: a correction means withdrawing an entry and adding a new one, so nothing disappears from the history.
03 / 05 · Imaging
Imaging in the same place
DICOM studies go to the PACS archive and show up in the patient record together with the report. The study card lists the series and metadata, and images open in the DICOM viewer with a single click. The same record also holds 3D scans in STL format, with a preview.
04 / 05 · JGP billing
Billing without guesswork
The grouper for JGP, Poland's DRG system, is a pure function: the same episode and the same rules version always give the same result, labelled as a simulation. New rules from the public health fund (NFZ) pass quality gates and a per-group comparison before anyone approves them. Every version is an immutable monthly snapshot. A verified import: 883 groups and 132,347 statistics rows with no errors.
05 / 05 · Security
Security built into the foundations
The PESEL national ID number is stored only as ciphertext (AES-GCM), and search runs on a separate blind index without decrypting anything. The GDPR audit log is append-only: not even an administrator can change an entry, and every emergency (break-glass) access is recorded. Each client gets its own instance: application, database and PACS archive.
